Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to study the figure of Kwame Nkrumah (1909-1972). It shows that despite an ideology which was not well understood by his fellows and in spite of the 1966 military coup which overthrew him, the former president of Ghana is wholly seen as one of the most important heroes of the anti-colonial struggle in Africa. His political action left memories that are still fresh in African culture, history and literature.
